Welcome to My Survey

Dear parent or guardian,

Thank you for taking part in this survey. We are interested in the opinions of parents and guardians about their choice of non-government school, and the motivations for making that choice. This survey is part of a larger study by Associate Professor David Hastie, Deputy Vice President Development, at Alphacrucis University College.

His research is exploring the reasons for school choice in Australia, an important topic for parents schools, governments, and Australian society. Working out the best ways to educate our children, is one of the most significant issues for families and communities, and this research will contribute to our understanding. It is a fully independent study, and is not formally associated or attached to any school, school group, school sector, or any other person or institution.

Some important points to note:
• The survey is completely anonymous, no individuals will be identified.
• Most of the questions are answered by just clicking an option. Some questions enable you to make an extended response if you wish.
• The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete (but longer if you choose to provide many extended responses).
• Please note that you can leave and return to the survey at a later time.
• Make sure to press the Done button at the end, otherwise your survey will be lost.

Please note that the responses you give will be treated as completely anonymous, and will not traceable back to you, unless of course you choose to identify yourself in the extended responses. Even in this case, the only person who will have access to the raw data of this survey will be the Lead Researcher, Associate Professor David Hastie, and the project's research assistants, all of whom are bound by a confidentiality agreement.

You are free to withdraw from the survey at anytime with no consequence. This survey was given ethical approval in Australia (NHMRC no. EC00466; approval number 120). If you have a complaint or concern about this research project or the way it is conducted, you may contact secretary.HREC@ac.edu.au

We look forward to reading your responses and using them as part of this significant research project.

Associate Professor David Hastie
