Digital v Postal Mail

Given the fact that response rates to email are generally a fraction of response rates to postal mail,  we're curious just how much ---or how little ---  smaller organizations (revenue under $3 million) are aware of the disparity.  If  they are aware, what are the factors that come into play as they decide whether to send a "Thank You"...an appeal...a renewal ...or other communication by postal mail or email.

Whether you are a staff fundraiser in an organization or a consultant for more than one organization your candid insights are appreciated and will be held in strict confidence.
