Thank you so much for your interest in the Spring 2014 Board Prep Program.

The Board Prep Program (BPP) is a comprehensive training program for young professionals who are interested in serving on nonprofit boards. It was created to teach you how to use your skills more effectively, but also to learn what it takes to be an effective board member.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
The Board Prep Program is a six-week long course that meets weekly from April 15th through May 20th. Each class will feature a guest lecturer and cover one topic that is vital to non-profit board leadership.

Session topics include:
1. Overview of Board Roles
2. Strategic Planning
3. Financial Management
4. Legal and Ethical Responsibility
5. Fundraising

The final class will allow for participants to share the results of their case studies, which are an integral part of BPP. At the start of the program, participants will be placed in small groups and matched with Philadelphia non-profits, and given access to the Executive Director and board members in order to closely study and learn how real organizations operate. During the sixth session, participants will share their learnings with the class.
