2024 Conference Survey for Newly Appointed Municipal Clerks, Acting Municipal Clerks, and Deputy Clerks

The Conference Committee is planning the first session of the conference on Tuesday, 4/23 for Municipal Clerks who have never attended a MCANJ Conference and will be having a Round Table for Newly Appointed Municipal Clerks, Acting Municipal Clerks, and Deputy Clerks. This Round Table discussion will be geared towards topics these Municipal Clerks need help with, have questions or difficulty with and are being afforded the opportunity in an intimate setting to ask the questions they need help with, learn and network from fellow Municipal Clerks, get pointers on how to make their offices run smoother, etc. Please helps us by providing us topics that you want to talk about or have questions on-thank you!
1.Licensing-Going over Raffle Application and Requirements for different types of Raffles.
2.Liquor License Person to Person & Place to Place Transfer Application Process Requirements 
3.Setting up your Agenda Format, Preparing items such as Rich Notices, pointers and tips on doing your Minutes
4.OPRA-How to handle requests (what happens when your on vacation/out of office), requirements of OPRA/exemptions/what is to be released immediately, GRC complaint process, etc.
5.Software available to assist in office operations and hear feedback from others who utilize software to hear what they like and don't like
6.Review of Resolutions that need to be advertised, Ordinance advertising requirements/review, format of resolution (Is roll call required, can the Municipal Clerk be the only signature, does the Mayor need to sign, etc.), Review of process when Land Use Ordinances are being discussed/adopted (do you need to mail a copy of the Ordinance to your neighboring towns or can you just email them), How do offices file Ordinances and Resolutions and what is the recommended way.
7.Budget Duties/Responsibilities of the Municipal Clerk
8.You passed your exam and newly appointed-now what?? Expectations, certification requirements, how to re-certify, tenure appointment resolution, etc.
9.Other duties that a Municipal Clerk maybe responsible for ex: Registrar, Dog Licensing, etc. How to handle the additional duties, understanding these other roles, get advice, tips, software, etc. Ask questions on these various duties that you do not know who to ask
