PC Connect’s Rural Route is an accessible public transportation service offered by Perth County. Rural Route operates entirely within Perth County, servicing the communities of Stratford, Gadshill, Brunner, Milverton, Newton, Millbank, Listowel, Atwood, Monkton and Mitchell through a regular loop with 8 daily runs on weekdays (Monday- Friday) and 3 daily runs on Saturday.

*PC Connect also operates three inter-community routes which offer urban connections including service between Listowel – Kitchener/Waterloo (Route 1), St. Marys –Stratford – Kitchener/Waterloo (Route 2) and Stratford – St. Marys – Stratford (Route 3). These inter-community routes (urban connections) are not being considered for the purposes of this survey.

PC Connect’s Rural Route has been fully funded by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation since it was launched in November 2020 through the Community Transportation Grant program as a pilot project. With the funding for the pilot coming to an end by March 31, 2025, Perth County is conducting public engagement to understand the impact of the PC Connect Rural Route on residents, riders and stakeholders. Since PC Connect’s Rural Route will no longer be fully-funded by the province, respondents are also encouraged to consider the potential impact on Perth County’s budget and the amount it levies on County residents.

The annual cost to run the PC Connect Rural Route service is $542,680 per year (estimated as of 2025). This cost represents a 2.45% increase added to the County tax levy.
