Question Title

* 8. Please choose the Stage of Innovation that best applies to your venture. While UWMD supports many programs in social impact, the Incubator program is specifically designed for organizations that are in the earlier stages of innovation, but past the "Idea Stage." This includes Discovery, Experimentation, and sometimes Growth stages.

UWMD Stages of Innovation:

Idea: An Idea-stage venture is at the starting line. It is defining the problem and potential solution, and exploring value proposition. The Social Innovation Accelerator is not designed idea-stage ventures.

Discovery: A Discovery-stage venture has launched and is hypothesis testing, building a validated business model, and exploring customer insights. It must be legally formed or have a fiscal sponsor. The Social Innovation Accelerator is not designed for Discovery-stage ventures. Discovery-Stage organizations are best served by the United Way Social Innovation Incubator.

Experimentation: An Experimentation-stage venture is launching and piloting a developed product, iterating and refining its process based on feedback loops, and is working on being legally formed, if not already. It must be legally formed or have fiscal sponsor. The Social Innovation Accelerator sometimes serves Experimentation-stage ventures.

Growth: A Growth-stage venture has completed a pilot and is scaling - growing operations and funds, building out a business plan, creating and expanding new systems, and incorporating feedback. It must be legally formed. The Social Innovation Accelerator does serve Growth-stage ventures.

Mature: A Mature-stage venture has successfully scaled and has reached a sustainable level of ongoing funding and operations. It can include model replication. Mature organizations overall can be served by the Social Innovation Accelerator only if they are implementing a new and innovative program within the larger organization that will have clearly defined local leadership.
