1. Expanding Housing Options

This page of questions (questions 1 - 4) explores the community's desire to expand housing options in Berkeley Lake. Questions referring to the R-100 zone are shown in yellow on the following map, and questions referring to areas not currently zoned R-100 are shown in green on the same map.
First: What is an ADU? ADU stands for Accessory Dwelling Unit. ADUs are a second, smaller dwelling on the same lot as a primary dwelling. ADUs may be attached to the primary dwelling or detached in a separate structure. ADUs can support multi-generational households by offering space and independence for relatives, as well as additional income for households.
