Embark on a celestial journey of love at Seneca County, Ohio's "Elope at the Eclipse" event on April 8, 2024 at the Frost Kalnow Amphitheater (155 East Market Street, Tiffin, OH 44883). Join us for an intimate and unforgettable experience as you exchange vows during the magical total solar eclipse. We provide everything you need for a dream elopement.

*You do not have to be a resident of Seneca County or the State of Ohio to elope during the wedding. You just must have a valid marriage license if you're getting married that day.*

We provide a dedicated officiant with Judge Damon Alt to solemnize your union. As the stars align, raise a glass to your love story with our complimentary first toast featuring sparkling beverages. The ambiance will include live music from No Eileen, creating the perfect backdrop for your first dance as a married couple and a photographer that will email photos to newlyweds after the event. Enjoy a specially crafted wedding cake that will add a touch of sweetness to your celestial celebration.

The event is free with the exception of the cost of a marriage license ($70). You must bring a valid marriage license to the event. If you're looking reaffirm your commitment, you do not need to bring any documentation. Guests are free and encouraged to attend.
Steps on Receiving a Valid Marriage License Are Below.
*You do not need to live in Seneca County or Ohio to participate.*
If At Least One Applicant Lives in Seneca County: You must set up an appointment with the Seneca County Probate Court at 419-447-3121 between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, prior to the start of the event. It's imperative to note that the courts will be closed on April 8 and you must plan accordingly to receive you marriage license in advance.

After setting up the appointment, please complete the Marriage Application Form here. Bring the form, along with Photo ID and Certified Birth Certificate are required for each applicant. Typically applicants use their Driver’s license, State ID, Passport or other Immigration and Naturalization Service ID for their photo ID. For anyone born in the State of Ohio, you can obtain a certified copy of your birth certificate at any local Health Department.

If either applicant has been previously married and divorced, the most recent certified copy of the final divorce decree or dissolution is required.

If a spouse is deceased, a copy of the death record is required.
At Least One Applicant Lives in the State of Ohio: Please contact your county's Probate Court to determine the items needed to obtain a marriage license in your respective county. You will need to bring your county's marriage license to the ceremony.
