Hello fellow Health Services Agency staff. Thank you in advance for taking the Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency (HSA) employee engagement survey. As a career public servant working in the health and human services field, I value the importance of a well-prepared workforce as the foundation of a healthy community.

Engaged employees help an organization achieve its mission, execute its strategy and generate lasting and powerful change for the people and communities we serve. Therefore, employee engagement should be a continuous process of learning, improvement, measurement and action. HSA values employee input and feedback within the agency and recognizes that achieving our mission is only possible through well-trained, supported employees whose value and contributions are recognized.

To better inform HSA on how to better serve you, our workforce, this survey asks about your satisfaction with the work you do, what you think about how decisions are made, how your work-related ideas are received, the ways you like to communicate best, your customer service experiences, and your opinions of supervision and management.

Many of the following questions are designed to rate your agreement/disagreement with statements related to our working environment and how it affects your job. For each of these, please indicate your level of satisfaction or agreement with each of the statements. Each item also has a section for you to further comment on your response in greater detail. It takes about 10 minutes to answer all the questions.

This survey will be repeated annually to assist HSA leadership in prioritizing workforce development strategies each year and also gauge their impact. Every employee's voice is important. Your answers are confidential and there is no method to tie you to the results of the survey you complete. Your opinions will help improve our agency and the services we provide. Your honest responses on this survey are truly valuable.
