In 2023, the first phase of the Central Area Plan Update culminated in a visioning process informed by historic progress, recent trends and community input. In this second phase of Chicago’s Central Plan Update, the Department of Planning and Development is seeking your input on strategies and actions that will enable the city’s Central Area to better serve Chicago residents, workers, visitors and businesses.
The following strategies are organized by pillar and reflect an overarching approach to achieve the Central Area vision developed in the first phase. Actions are policies, programs and projects intended to achieve the strategy. Please help us prioritize your top two actions under each strategy.
