Every year clinicians across the Northern Territory volunteer their time to support, mentor and educate students – ultimately shaping the future health workforce. The Flinders NT Supervisor awards acknowledge outstanding contributions made to student supervision.
Awards will be presented at the annual Flinders NT Supervisor Recognition Awards ceremony held at the end of each year. Anyone who has been involved in student supervision during the 12 months prior to the award ceremony is eligible for nomination.
Nominations can be made by: · Students who have completed placements in the Northern Territory · Supervisors or their colleagues · University placement coordinators / key contacts · Flinders NT staff
You are welcome to nominate yourself.
Nominees do not need to have been the primary supervisor for example a physiotherapy student can nominate a dietitian who substantially influenced their learning on placement.
In making a nomination, you are asked to describe how the nominee has contributed to student education as well as provide three (3) reasons why you feel the nominee should win the award, supported by examples or evidence.
There are 3 categories for each award: Allied Health, Nursing/Midwifery and Medicine. There are 5 awards: 1. Innovative Supervisor 2. Interprofessional Collaborator 3. Commitment to Clinical Teaching 4. Territory Ambassador 5. Outstanding Regional Supervisor*
*The Outstanding Regional Supervisor Award is awarded to a supervisor who has made an outstanding contribution in the area of student supervision within their local region, as evidenced by nominations for the previous 4 awards. The winner of this award will be selected by the judges. The award includes three categories: - Central Australia Region (including Tennant Creek) - Katherine Region - Top End (including Darwin and East Arnhem)
You can nominate an individual in more than one category if you wish.
We thank you in advance for taking time to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of our Territory colleagues.
