ABA Idling Summons Survey

As part of our ongoing efforts to address the recent rise in NYCDEP summons, mainly those issued through the Citizens Complaint Program, the American Bus Association (ABA) is gathering input from our members to better understand the impact of these changes on your operations.

According to the NYCDEP, there was a sharp increase in summons issued, with over 10,000 in 2023 and more than 100,000 in 2024. We are working with key stakeholders, including BUS4NYC and BANY, to address these concerns and advocate for solutions at both the city and state levels.

To assist us in this effort, we kindly ask that you complete the following questions about the summons you’ve received in recent years.

Your timely response is greatly appreciated as we continue to engage with NYC and NYS authorities to resolve this issue. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact Callie Hoyt directly.

Your responses will remain confidential and anonymous.

Thank you for your participation.
