Thank you for your interest in serving on a committee for the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS). Please indicate which committees you are interested in below, and as seats open up, your name will be submitted to the National Advisory Council for consideration. Science Committee: The Science Committee is responsible for working with the Academy Policy team to respond to federal proposals impacting nursing science (including legislation and regulations) and advancing nursing science representation in policy conversations. Reviews nominations for CANS members who are interested in serving as NIH Study Section reviewers.

Program Committee: The Program Committee is responsible for overseeing the development of the annual CANS conferences (State of the Science or the Advanced Methods conference). Identifies cutting-edge and timely topics and speakers for the conference agenda. Co-facilitates the abstract review process.

Membership Committee: The Membership Committee is responsible for co-facilitating the nominations process and selection of the CANS Awards (Brilliant New Investigator and Outstanding New Scientist). Works to identify membership recruitment and retention strategies.
