ABCT International Connections Survey |
Survey Deadline: March 15, 2023
The ABCT Board of Directors and the Board of the World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies invites you to join our effort to disseminate CBT via links to the WHO, UNESCO, the UN, and other international organizations that you may be involved with by completing this survey and indicating your further interest.
Here is some background information to give you context:
Incorporated in January 2019, the World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (WCCBT) is a global multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the prevention, assessment, and treatment of mental distress and suffering, and the promotion of health and well-being, through the scientific development and implementation of evidence-based cognitive and behavioural strategies.
ABCT is proud to be a founding association and one of six umbrella organizations of the WCCBT.
The aims of the WCCBT are to:
1. Support the worldwide development and profile of the broad range of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies broadly defined* (CBT*).
2. Develop a worldwide network to share news, information, and issues in CBT.
3. Promote CBT and evidence-based treatments for psychological disorders and to improve wellbeing around the globe.
4. Develop and support effective implementation of CBT through training.
5. Facilitate and support research in CBT.
As part of our third mission, the WCCBT is interested in increasing dissemination of the broad range of cognitive and behavioral therapies by building collaborations with global organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The WCCBT also plans to communicate and advocate for adoption of successful mental health policies and promotional activities across the globe. The ultimate aim is to improve the provision and dissemination of CBT for improving mental health and wellbeing on a large scale throughout the world.
