At FDA’s request, the Foundation is identifying opportunities for the agency to address challenges at the intersection of human and animal health sectors, including those in the ongoing response to the current H5N1 outbreak. The project goal is to develop a set of actionable solutions for FDA to consider in its response to H5N1 or other cross-sectoral outbreaks.
The project will take two parts. In part one, we are gathering information from select external FDA partners on their experience with the current H5N1 outbreak response to identify successes and challenges. In part two, we will collaborate with a broader set of partners in the public health and agriculture ecosystems to develop proposed solutions for FDA to consider in its future response actions.
