Background:
A group of family members who have been closely following the development of the new Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) waiver outlined advocacy themes that are common to both families and providers. These themes were drafted into a recommendation letter that was sent to the the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Aging and Disabilities (DHHS OADS) on September 21, 2015. Over 300 people signed the letter showing their support of the recommendations. If you support the recommendations and want to add your name, please complete the survey. Because the letter was already sent to DHHS OADS your name will not go to the department. However, we can get an idea of how many people agree that these issues need to be addressed. Also if you include contact information, we can keep you in the loop about future informational notices, potential advocacy opportunities and opportunities to network with other families.
