Skills Development Fund COVID-19 Initiative |
Overview
The Skills Development Fund COVID-19 Special Initiative (“Initiative”) is a new program from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) in direct response to the COVID-19 Pandemic Outbreak. In order to respond quickly to COVID-19 needs, and the daily changes to these priorities, TWC has awarded the Lower Rio Workforce Solutions funding to assist business partners with the training needs for existing and new workers in vital industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and information technology.
The Skills Development Fund:
• Assists businesses with training needs for new and incumbent workers in vital industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and information technology
• Pays for the training up to $2000 per trainee
• Additional priority will be given to business partners and those industries responding directly to the COVID-19 pandemic
