Survey Introduction
The purpose of this survey
The purpose of this survey is to gather information about the New Zealand biotech sector in order to create a map of all organisations in New Zealand working in the biotech space. This research will enable the economic performance and the growth of the NZ bioeconomy to be measured and tracked, as well as enable informed policy decisions to be made.
The last time similar information was gathered was in 2011.
BioTech New Zealand (BioTechNZ) is running this study in partnership with the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI). Statistics NZ has kindly supported this study through sharing historic information for the survey to ensure we can compare our data with their earlier surveys.
The information gathered by this survey will be anonymised. The anonymised research will contribute to the BioTechNZ Market Insights Report: Innovating for a Sustainable Future which will be released in the middle of 2020. All survey respondents who provide their email addresses will be emailed a free copy of the report when it is released.
We would, however, like to include your organisation name and logo on a map of the NZ biotech ecosystem. More information about this is included at the end of the survey. Even if you do not want your logo used, we would appreciate you still completing the survey.
It should take you approximately 10 minutes to complete this survey. The survey only needs to be completed once per organisation.

The definition of biotechnology is for organisations undertaking research and development in this space, however, this survey is keen to capture the supporting organisations in the biotechnology ecosystem.
