The Project for Adolescent Literacy (PAL) is an educator-led group committed to improving adolescent literacy and supporting middle and high school students who are struggling readers.

Through this survey, we want to learn from current practicing non-public school secondary educators, such as classroom teachers, teacher leaders and instructional coaches, about concrete steps educators in multiple contexts are taking to support struggling adolescent readers.*

As you answer these questions, please know:
  1. You are the expert. Your experience and insight matters.
  2. We will review your answers and learn from them.
  3. This is a confidential survey.
This survey should take you no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.

Please note: We will only share overall survey results. Individual responses or any personally identifiable information will not be shared without your permission. We will only follow up with you if you opt in (at the end of this survey) to receive communications from us.

*"Struggling adolescent reader" – For the purposes of this survey, we define struggling adolescent readers as 6th to 12th grade students who cannot yet independently read and understand grade level text.

If you are a public school educator working with struggling adolescent readers (ex: independent schools, home schooling, tutoring, etc) we invite you complete this separate survey: Project for Adolescent Literacy: Public School Educator Survey

The Project for Adolescent Literacy (PAL) is managed by Seek Common Ground with support from the Barr Foundation. For more information about PAL, go to www.seekcommonground.org/pal)
