RFP - Advances in Arts Assessment: Changes in Policy, Advances in Practice |
Welcome
SEADAE Arts Assessment Symposium will be held in Grapevine Texas, on November 11th and 12th, 2016.
Education is gearing up for change. Driven by the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, now known as Every Student Succeeds (ESSA), this legislative shift at the federal level marks a significant opportunity for arts education. The State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education (SEADAE) recognizes the value of bringing people together to demonstrate advancement in the field, and in early examinations of ESSA, assessment is key. This symposium will provide a platform for sharing advancements in arts assessment policies and practices from the local, state, and national levels. Therefore, we are seeking proposals for breakout sessions addressing assessment models for measuring student learning in the arts so as to provide schools and districts with credible assessment resources for use in state and local assessment systems. Advances in technology, new state initiatives in arts assessments, and lessons learned from the state work that emanated from the US Department of Education Race to the Top (RTTT) grants and subsequent federal waivers that have been tried and tested at the local level have all impacted advances in arts assessment. Your sharing of such advances in arts assessment is critical to advancing the field of arts education. To submit a proposal, please complete the information below.
All proposal forms are due by May 15th, 2016.
