The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is seeking feedback from the pathology sector on the proposed Requirements for Cervical Screening.
Your input will help shape the Requirements for Cervical Screening before they are finalised and published.
You can use this survey to submit your feedback on the draft Requirements for Cervical Screening. It includes a number of open-ended questions to help structure your response. The Commission welcomes feedback on any or all of the following areas:
- Introduction - Language
- Appropriateness - Clarification - Gaps and duplication - Other feedback.
Submissions received will be presented to and discussed by NPAAC, its subcommittees and the technical working group. The name of your organisation will be included. If you would like your submission to remain confidential, please do not include the name of your organisation.
The consultation period will conclude close of business Friday 14 July 2023.

Background The draft Requirements for Cervical Screening (First Edition) have been developed by NPAAC, the Document Review and Liaison Committee and the technical working group formed to provide expert advice on the standard. The Requirements for Cervical Screening replaces three previous Tier 4 NPAAC documents: - Requirements for laboratories reporting tests for the National Cervical Screening Program (Second Edition 2019) - Requirements for validation of self-collected vaginal swabs for use in the National Cervical Screening Program (First Edition 2019) - Performance measures for Australian laboratories reporting cervical cytology (Third Edition 2015)
