A Glimpse into the Real World of Women Entrepreneurs in India: A Survey |
Hello, there!
Did you know that of the nearly 75 Mn enterprises in India, ONLY 4% enterprises are women-owned and which hire workers? At its full potential, by 2030, there could be 12.6 Mn women-owned enterprises hiring workers in India envisaged to create an additional employment for 150-170 Mn people by then. This is equivalent to more than 25% of the jobs required to absorb the entire working-age population by 2030!1
Such is the capability and power in the hands of women entrepreneurs in India! And YOU are ONE of them!
Yet, the bitter truth is that India ranks 140 (of 156 countries) in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index 2021. India is DOWN 28 places since 2020, 31 places since 2018 and 42 places since 2006!2
We need a revolution of sorts for women entrepreneurs to claim their rightful place in the Indian and global economy.

To enable such a revolution, we at 46 XX have embarked on a mission to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem for women entrepreneurs to DEMOCRATIZE access to INFORMATION, INSPIRATION and NETWORKS, and that rests on FOUR pillars of LITERACY, MENTORSHIP, NETWORKS and CAPITAL. To pursue this in an effective manner, we would like to identify and get a better sense of (a) challenges that you faced or are facing, (b) your core training/skill development needs, (c) gaps in training programs currently being offered, and (d) your expectations from a training program that helps you address these challenges and makes you feel empowered.
For those women entrepreneurs who have already managed to cross the bridge successfully after a long and persistent struggle, please do take this survey based on your experience in the past!
