Everyone Has a Story: A Book Club & Writing Workshop

A free story telling experience with Autism Society Ventura County

Thanks to a grant through Ventura County Behavioral Health, Autism Society Ventura County is launching our first ever book club and writing workshop! Each quarter we will read and discuss a book- a memoir or story about life and disability. Our goal is to help individuals with disabilities and those who care about them find new ways to express themselves and create connections within the community.
Individuals with disabilities, families, service providers, and community members are welcome to join twice per month in-person meetings, keep in touch and share thoughts in our private Facebook group, and most importantly express themselves through writing, art, language or any other medium.
Are you interested in joining us? Our first 3-month session will be the week of July 1-September 31.
We will cover the cost of the book and any needed supplies. Meetings will run 2 hours. The first hour will be discussion and connection, the second hour will be creative time for writing or other artistic expression.
