The American Legion Post 81, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 and the City of Gonzales, are committed to honoring the veterans and active duty service members who have called Gonzales home. The mission of the program is to pay tribute to those who have put their lives on the line to serve their Country.

We will host a Ceremony at Central Park at the beginning of November to commemorate the veterans and active duty service members, more details will be released once we have a final date and time.
If you are a current or former member of the military who resides in Gonzales, or a family member of someone who served while living in Gonzales, we invite you to download and print an Application Form for the Hometown Heroes Program.

The American Legion Post 81 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 have worked together to underwrite $20 to go towards each applicants sign. Applicants will be responsible for paying the remaining $35.

1) Proof of Residency. ex. copy of recent Utility Bill or valid California ID
