Campaign Against the "Reproductive Freedom" Amendment
State and national pro-life organizations have united forces in Maryland in defense of natural and fundamental human rights including the right to life and parental rights to make medical decisions for their children. Maryland law is extreme on these issues and does not represent the will of the people. We need your help to save our Constitution and our state!
Despite the fact that since 1992 the Maryland Freedom of Choice Act permits taxpayer funded abortion for any reason through birth, abortion activists in the Maryland General Assembly in 2023 passed a deadly bill that seeks to amend the Maryland Constitution to forever enshrine a state fundamental right to “reproductive freedom”. The state will ask voters to approve this dangerous amendment language on the November 2024 general election ballot.

Why We Must Defeat the Deadly “Reproductive Freedom” Amendment
PATIENT HEALTH AND SAFETY AT RISK
While the term “reproductive freedom” is yet undefined, the amendment could make it a crime to be pro-life in Maryland and would deny pregnant women access to lifesaving options and quality reproductive care. Abortion already is legal, but this amendment would invalidate all existing health and safety laws that protect women and girls seeking abortion, deprive women informed consent, and prevent parental notification for minors. This amendment would forever bar future attempts by our elected representatives to limit partial birth or dismemberment abortions. In states where similar amendments have been enacted, physicians who help women choose life for their children are being threatened with professional misconduct and revocation of licenses.
PARENTAL RIGHTS AT STAKE
Bill sponsors testified that the amendment also would establish new transgender rights and authorize the government to use taxpayer dollars to fund and promote puberty blocking drugs and surgical mutilation of genitalia - even among children without parental consent. If passed, the amendment will allow school counselors and others to refer schoolchildren for “gender transition” procedures with no notice to parents and no rights of the parents to object. In states where similar laws have been enacted, parents who try to stop the drugging and mutilation of their minor children are being threatened with loss of custody and even imprisonment.
