Introduction:

This study is investigating if the extent of the relationship between Organizational Aesthetics (OA) and Work Engagement (WE). OA is a measure of people’s perception of their work environment and an organization’s “look, sound, and smell”. WE is a measure of how connected a person feels to their work and the organization and people they work with and for. Participating with this study requires completing two online surveys. The time required to complete the surveys is approximately 30 minutes. This is no anticipated risk in participating and the study benefits could serve to improve the aesthetic impact of the organization as well as work engagement of the employees. Participation is voluntary, confidential, and not compensated.

You are being asked to be a participant in a research study about the relationship between Organizational Aesthetics and Work Engagement conducted by David Sugar at Purdue University Global. You have been asked to participate in the research because you are employed may be eligible to participate. We ask that you read this form and ask any questions you may have before agreeing to be in the research.

Your participation in this research is voluntary. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without affecting that relationship.

All participants will asked to sign this Consent Document, a brief demographic questionnaire, and two online surveys. The time required to complete the study is approximately 30 minutes.

There may be 30 participants or more involved with this research.

What are the potential risks and discomforts?

The research may:

Cause slight inconvenience due to time require to accurately respond to the two online surveys. There is no known risk associated with this study.

This study could lead to a better understanding of the relationship between the work environment, an organization’s “look”, and on employee’s feelings about their workplace

The only people who will know that you are a research subject are members of the research team. No information about you or provided by you during the research will be disclosed to others without your written permission. When the results of the research are published or discussed at conferences, no information will be included that would reveal your identity.

Any information that is obtained in connection with this study and that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission or as required by law.

You can choose whether to be in this study or not. If you volunteer to be in this study, you may withdraw at any time without consequences of any kind. You may also refuse to answer any questions you don’t want to answer and still remain in the study.
