What does it mean to be a mentor?

An outdoor mentor provides the encouragement, skills, and opportunities often needed for people to successfully pursue the outdoors with confidence on their own. Minnesota is rich with many treasured outdoor pastimes. Mentoring opens the door, allowing others to experience these pastimes you have come to enjoy.

As a mentor you may wear several hats to a mentee; an advocate, role model, cheerleader, teacher, companion afield, or even a friend.  You will get to experience the joys of many firsts for enthusiast’s young and old -   her first walleye or his first trout.  Do you have the passion to introduce and share outdoor experiences with someone new?  If so please take our survey.
