Maplecrest Park Inclusive Playground

Maplewood Recreation wants to hear from you about Maplecrest Park!

In response to the community’s expressed need for an inclusive playground at Maplecrest Park, the Township plans to apply to the state’s Green Acres Program for Jake’s Law Playgrounds, which are completely inclusive playgrounds. Jake’s Law, passed in 2018, encourages the building of inclusive playgrounds that are designed with standards that generally exceed those required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and result in accommodating people with disabilities to the greatest extent feasible. The Township’s vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive space that promotes physical and social well-being for the community, and to provide it in an area alongside other community recreation spaces.
