Employer Survey
Hey employers, we want to hear from you! We recognize that we are all part of a better future for the outdoor industry.
We have been hard at work advocating for guides and outdoor professionals and are trying to reduce barriers to create a more diverse outdoor community. We want to hear your perspective and gain ideas on how we can support you with education and resources that pertain to Employment Standards, Justice, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and more!
Please fill out our survey to help us gain understanding on how we can all work together to make change in the outdoor industry. This information will also help our advocacy work, where we are pursuing ways to increase funding to Canadian outdoor companies.
If you haven't heard about CANOPA before, we are the Canadian Outdoor Professionals' Association.
We are a young organization with the following goals:
Our Aim We are seeking to make the outdoor profession more inclusive of diversity, and sustainable for outdoor professionals
Our goals Educate Outdoor Professionals on their rights as employees and the employment standards that govern our work Include and amplify diversity within the community - amplify and include marginalized voices that have been routinely silenced or excluded Advocate for a more sustainable industry (advocate for improved employment standards, a livable wage, an industry-wide pay ladder, push to be covered under the WSIB) Support Outdoor Professionals - health benefits, insurance, mentorship, continuing education, a yearly symposium, and access to legal support in issues surrounding employment standards and workplace safety
We are collecting information in order to guide us as an organization as well as conducting research with the hopes of bettering the outdoor industry for everyone. Your responses will be anonymous unless you would like to add your contact information at the end of the survey.
Towards the end of the survey, there are questions regarding government support. We will use answers from these questions to provide information and topics for our ongoing discussions with both the provincial and federal governments.
