Want to be considered for selection for the 2023 Little Athletics SA State Team?

Each year, Little Athletics SA selects a State Team to compete at the Australian Little Athletics Championships. These Championships will be held over three days (in April) and are hosted yearly by each Little Athletics State and Territory.

An independent panel selects a team of athletes each year to compete at these Championships. Under 13 able-bodied athletes and Under 13-14 multi-class athletes compete in the Australian Teams Championships, Under 14 able-bodied athletes and Under 15-16 multi-class athletes compete in the Australian Junior Athletics Championships, as well as Under 15 able-bodied athletes who compete in the Australian Combined Event Championship.

Athletes are required to nominate to be considered for selection. For the Under 15’s, this must be done before the State Combined Event Championships and for the Under 13’s, this must be done before the State Individual Championships.

Relating to U14 athletes, for 2023 only, initial offers will be for U13 athletes who finished in the top 3 for each eligible event at the 2022 State Individual Championships. Remaining positions will be offered to U14 athletes who place in the top 3 at the 2023 State Individual Championships. Please complete this form the register your interest prior to the 2023 State Individual Championships. 

Firstly make sure you are eligible for one of the age groups below.

STATE TEAM ELIGIBILITY:

Under 13's - If you are born in 2010, you are eligible to be selected for the Under 13 State Team. Ensure you fill out the details below and you also must qualify and compete at the 2023 State Individual Championships.

Under 14's - if you are born in 2009, you are eligible to be selected for the Under 14 State Team. Ensure you fill out the details below and you also must qualify and compete at the 2023 State Individual Championships. Please note that only athletes who finish in the top 3 per event (final) at the 2023 SIC's will be offered a place in the AJAC and is subject to availability in each event, based off the initial selection. 

Under 15's - If you are born in 2008, you are eligible to be selected for the Under 15 State Team. Ensure you fill out the details below and you also must qualify and compete at the 2023 Toyota State Combined-Event Championships.

For the athlete to be selected for the 2023 State Team, the parent/guardian must acknowledge the following requirements:

1. I understand that my athlete must meet the State Team eligibility (as listed above and in the State Team Booklet) and compete at the specified Championships.

2. I understand that I will be contactable up until 9:30PM on the Sunday of the State Individual Championships.

3. I understand that my athlete will commit to all team sessions, prior to travelling away with the team (sessions listed in the State Team Booklet).

4. I understand that my athlete will be financial for selection (cost can vary between $1200.00 - $2000.00).
