The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of people with disabilities through increasing access to technology solutions. RESNA’s Education Committee, which provides training opportunities for professionals who serve people with disabilities, is developing a profile of assistive technology service providers who work in schools.
Our subject matter experts have conducted a job analysis study of the work of AT professionals in education. Your participation in this survey is critical; you will help RESNA validate this job analysis study and define the scope of practice of these professionals.
On the following page, you'll review a short list of 6 areas of responsibility or "domains" identified in the job analysis study. Then, you will rate the job tasks that comprise each domain. Note: Divided among the 6 domains are 83 job tasks that represent—in general—the work performed by AT providers in school. It is not expected that all AT providers will have performed every one of these 83 tasks.
You'll also rate the job skills and knowledge associated with performing these tasks on the whole.
Finally, you'll provide some demographic information about your background and your current role in the field of AT in schools.
The survey is estimated to be approximately 20 minutes in length. If you need to leave the survey, you can return later. (In your browser, a cookie will be stored to remember your survey responses.)
