Dear Community Member,
Galway City Council considers parks to be key elements of the city’s public realm and important amenities for communities, residents and visitors to the city to share and enjoy.
As we engage in a process of consultation to help us design enhancements to Kingston Park and Millers Lane, we would like to hear your vision what of a modern and accessible park should be. Your input is essential in shaping the future of these public spaces to better serve the diverse needs and interests of our community.
It should be noted that the elements of the master plan for the area passed by members of Galway City Council in 2017, including the provision of full-size rugby, soccer and hockey pitches, remain locked into the design plan and will not be changed. All other elements of the parks are entirely open for consideration as to how they will look and what they’ll include. We want to get your views on this through this first public consultation, a non-statutory consultation and further consultations that will follow i.e., the second non-statutory public consultation and the statutory public consultation.
This public consultation is intended to elicit ideas and suggestions for the remaining areas of the urban parks, from the members of the community most likely to use and benefit from them in the future.
Please answer the following questions to help us understand your preferences and priorities regarding the enhancement of the parks. Your responses will guide the decision-making process and ensure that the upgrades reflect the collective vision of our community.
