Study Information
Thank you for your interest in our study. We are so pleased that you are considering participating. This survey is part of a larger program of research that aims to improve early diagnosis and treatment of chronic disease. For this study we are inviting healthcare professionals of the East Grampians Health Service, Ballarat Community Health, Latrobe Community Health Service, and the Silver Chain Group to take part. You must be 18 years of age or older, able to understand English, able to give informed consent, and able to attend the nominated location (onsite or online) of the study activity.
What is the purpose of this research?
This research is led by Federation University Australia and is funded by the Commonwealth of Australia as part of the Regional Research Collaboration Program. The purpose of this study is to produce a digital health platform to support the monitoring and management of chronic disease. The study has received ethical approval from Federation University Human Research Ethics Committee (2023-169).
What does this study involve?
There are five activities involved in this study. The first is an anonymous survey that will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey asks for some information about you (e.g., your age, cultural background), your use of the internet, and opinions on digital tools and apps. You can complete the survey online or return a paper-and-pencil version by mail (a reply-paid envelope is provided). At the end of the survey you will be asked if you would be interested in hearing about our other study activities. These are described in more detail in the linked information below.
What are the possible benefits of taking part?
You may derive indirect benefits by participating in this study through contributing to a digital health platform to better assist in the monitoring and management of chronic disease. You may also derive direct benefit through use of the final digital health platform when it is available for public use with community health services.
Are there any risks from participating?
We do not anticipate that there will be any serious risks or disadvantages to you from participating in this study. However, we recognise that you may feel somewhat uneasy answering some questions or taking part in some aspects of the activities. Should you feel concerned or discomforted in any way from taking part in this study, please access:
