Self-efficacy and Social Video Game Survey |
WELCOME TO THE STUDY
You are being asked to be in this research study because you are a video game player who has played within the last year. You must be age 18 or older to participate in the study. The information in this consent form is to help you decide if you want to be in this research study. Please take your time reading this form. This study is administered online and conducted by Jacob Schou a doctoral student researcher at Keiser University.
General Information about the Study
This study examines the relationship between social gaming behaviors and self-efficacy. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to answer questions about your social gaming behaviors and answer questions about your views on your ability to perform tasks in general, known as general self-efficacy. Participation in this study should take 10 minutes or less to complete. There are no foreseeable risks in participating in this study as participation includes only answering impersonal survey items. There are foreseeable direct benefits if the participants enter and win the random drawing for a $100 Visa gift card that will be sent to the winner through their email account.
Voluntary Participation
Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You may refuse to participate in this research. Such refusal will not have any negative consequences for you. If you begin to participate in the research, you may at any time, for any reason, discontinue your participation without any negative consequences. You may skip questions you do not want to answer at any time during this survey.
Confidentiality
There is no identifying information linking anything to you in this study, which makes you anonymous. Please do not include your name or any identifiable information in your responses. In appreciation of your participation, you can enter a one-time raffle for a $100 Visa gift card. You can email an email address at the end of the survey if you wish to enter. If you decide to enter the raffle, your email information will be required and deleted as soon as the raffle is over to avoid any issues.
