The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce along with Wilson College will award the Environmental Sustainability Award at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Breakfast on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Chambersburg Country Club. We are actively seeking nominations for these awards from members of the Chamber.
The Environmental Sustainability Award recognizes a business or nonprofit organization whose operations, processes or products reflect adherence to the principles of ethical, economic and environmental sustainability.
Examples of criteria considered for the Environmental Sustainability Award include:
Waste management policies and practices Recycling practices Use of renewable energy resources Protection and conservation of natural resources such as air, water, soil, etc. Pollution reduction practices Wilderness and wetland stewardship efforts Practice and promotion of sustainable agriculture Promotion of sustainable lifestyles and quality of life Food security and farmland preservation efforts Environmentally friendly designs of facilities (buildings, roadways, etc.)
To nominate a business (self-nominations are permitted), complete the following nomination form and return it to the Chamber. Nominations must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, February 25.
