PETITION TO METROPOLITAN PLANNING COMMISSION |
OPPOSITION TO LANDMARK 24 REQUEST FOR REZONING
OF WILD HERON PROPERTY (Application #22-002692-ZA)
We respectfully request that the MPC deny the current Landmark 24 request to rezone Wild Heron Property from A-1 (agricultural) to RSF-4 and RMF-1 (allowing for a total of close to 400 homes between townhouses and single family homes), for these reasons:
1. Population density: proposed single home lot size of 40-50 ft. X 120 ft.
2.Traffic congestion: Adding nearly 400 homes will significantly increase traffic on already over-stressed Wild Heron Road and connecting roads
3.Critical scarce resources: Additional need for police, fire, and emergency services, already beyond capacity
4. Impact to Georgetown Elementary School: Capacity limitations and safety of students who walk to school
5. Wildlife and Environmental Impact: Destruction of significant tree canopy and endangered wildlife habitat
Please sign this petition showing that you OPPOSE the application for rezoning this area to RSF-4 and RMF-1 which allows for almost 400 homes. We acknowledge that rezoning for fewer homes and larger plots would address these concerns.
