A draft copy of the Clare Outdoor Recreation Committee's (CORC), Clare Outdoor Recreation Plan is available at Clare County Council Have Your Say Outdoor Recreation Plan . This questionnaire is your opportunity to provide feedback to the CORC on this draft strategy.

Outdoor recreation includes activities that take place in the natural environment, such as walking, canoeing, mountain biking, orienteering, and wild swimming, and at venues such as forests, parks, hills, beaches, lakes, and rivers. It does not include activities that take place in more formal outdoor settings, such as golf, soccer/GAA, or motorsports (scrambler bikes, speedboats).

* 1. The following five themes (Places, People, Partnership, Product, Promotion) on pages 13 and 14, try to capture all of the key priorities for outdoor recreation in County Clare. Do they?

Product: Support the growth of more activities and more ways to take part through clubs, education services, commercial and self led participation.
Promotion: More awareness raising to support participation, especially for low or non participants, new residents and visitors.

Maintain and Renew: Not just new places but also maintain and upgrade existing outdoor recreation places and support the communities that maintain these.
Enhance: Improve outdoor recreation experiences through alternative transport/park and ride opportunities, enhanced trailheads, signage, reduced on-road trail sections and promotion.
Expand: The range of activities and experiences, through more trails and locations, and increased activity/service provision.
Divert: Visitor impact is greater than the carrying capacity at some locations. Visitor management is required by providing additional nearby venues or alternative transport/park and ride options.
Animate: More people will take part and benefit from outdoor recreation if there are more activity programmes and promotion.
