Victorian Livestock Veterinary Scholarship -
Supervisor Application Form

Eligibility

This application form is for experienced livestock veterinarians based in Victoria who have been working for more than 5 years in production animal/mixed animal (with production focus) veterinary practice. Applicants should have a keen interest in and patience and time for mentoring and teaching early career vets.

Eligible applicants may:

1. Work within a regional Victorian vet clinic alongside scholarship candidate applicant/s

2. Work independently of a vet clinic, or

3. Not currently be actively engaged in clinical veterinary work (e.g. retired, on leave, career break etc.).

Supervisor applications will be assessed for suitability by VSS management before being approved and allocated to a successful scholarship candidate in late November. Pairing of candidates and supervisors will take place in negotiation with VSS and the candidate's veterinary employer.

Hold a nationally recognised veterinary science degree

Registered to practice as a veterinary surgeon in the state of Victoria

More than 5 years clinical production animal/mixed animal (with production focus) veterinary experience

Able to commit 1 full day per week to clinical supervision of a scholarship candidate

EITHER work within a regional Victorian veterinary practice alongside scholarship candidate applicant/s

OR work as an independent veterinarian

OR are not currently engaged in active clinical veterinary work**

** If you are not currently engaged in active clinical veterinary work, please state the last date you worked with production animals in a veterinary capacity.
