Rural Conference Planning Poll #2

Where to Host our Event & More!

We're aiming to accommodate 200 people so every rural network member could attend and bring a few volunteers/staff. Three choices are below.

Mattawa
• Beautiful school facility
• Can fit 200 people
• Great food
• Doesn't have hotels – nearest hotel is 1 hour away
• By the Wanapum Heritage Center
• Lots of parking
• Could get conference facility for free
• Recreation Activities: River, Jet Ski’s, Dunes, Wineries
• A very rural community
• We have a Rural Network Member representing this area to help us.

Moses Lake
• Good option with a mostly even driving distance
• Accessible through I-90 reducing driving time
• Hotel options
• Facility options for hosting 200 people
• Has food options and catering nearby
• Big Ben Community College facility for free, or high school facility
• Activities: shopping, bowling alley, golf courses, wine, trails, dunes atv,
• Moses Lake is at 24,000 residents
• We have a Rural Network Member representing this area to help us.

Ellensburg
• Central Washington University, good campus but don’t know if they can host for free
• Feels rural in this area
• Also accessible from I-90, easy freeway access
• Good parking if school is not in session
• Might not have representation from CWU on Rural Network so it is not as natural of a connection
• Ellensburg has a population of 20,100
• Has a good mix of restaurants and hotels.
