This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the IIS community in using VXU messages to support the interoperability of immunization information between systems in alignment with the National IG. The IIS core competency associated with this course is interoperability. The course should take approximately 2-3 hours to complete.
As a result of completing this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe use cases for VXU messages.
2. Identify segments used in VXU messages.
3. Describe the type of information conveyed in each segment of a VXU message.
4. Identify key fields within VXU messages and how IIS use the information conveyed.
5. Identify how the structure and contents of a VXU vary based on the use case and information being conveyed, in alignment with National IG specifications.
6. Relate National IG VXU specifications to jurisdictional IISVXU processing.
Participant Engagement:
Participants are expected to access the course via the AIRA Learning Management System, RISE. All course activities are asynchronous and may be completed as participants’ time allows, within 30 days from registration. Participants are encouraged to access the course via computer for an optimal learning experience. Course activities include:
· Viewing videos
· Completing knowledge checks
· Passing a final quiz
· Completing a course evaluation
Participants who complete the course and pass the final quiz will receive a Certificate of Course Completion.
