Nominee bios
Nominee 1. Michelle Williamson has been working as a Clinical Nurse specialist in Diabetes since 2018. Michelle has been a College member for 5 years wishes to increase her knowledge base, network base and presence in the world of Diabetes.
Nominee 2. Jimmy Jansen is a Nurse Practitioner candidate with experience in gerontology, palliative care, acute care and community health. Jimmy works with frail elderly with a focus on medication optimisation including review of diabetes medications. Jimmy has a special interest in diabetes management and can add value from the perspective of community health and care of older people.
Nominee 3. Elizabeth Lewis - Hills is a Senior CNS, team lead and support of the diabetes in pregnancy team. Clinically focusing on wāhine hapū with diabetes with a special interest in Māori and hauora Māori.Committe Maori member of Waterford Birth Centre Waikato +15 years. Founder and Chair of NZSSD Diabetes in Pregnancy - Special Interest Group. Committee member of Maternity Guidelines Review (GDM) Steering Group (MoH). Organiser/re-establisher of Waikato Regional Diabetes Service - Māori Rōpū Hauora. Associate Chair for IHC and Idea services - Hamilton Central 2018 - 2021. Development stage of the NZSSD Special Interest Group for Māori Nurses working in diabetes. 2023 Completed Nursing Masters research portfolio titled Ngā Hua o te Kōpū – improving outcomes for Wāhine Māori with Diabetes in Pregnancy.
Nominee 4. Harpreet Kaur is a Nurse practitioner working as a primary care provider for residents in aged residential care facilities. Harpreet has been apart of ACDN and would like to contribute with service in any capacity if I joined the committee. "I have a can do attitude and like to give and develop further professionally".
