* 8. All admitted students are required to enroll in the one credit hour Gateway to University Honors course (HNRS1010) in spring semester 2016. Two sections will be offered - you must be able to enroll in one of these class sections:

Section 001 - Wednesdays 3:35-5:45pm
Section 002 - Thursday 3:35-5:45pm

Both sections will begin meeting the week of March 2nd and will conclude the week of April 27th. Students will be able to register online for HNRS1010 once they have been admitted to the program. All students must take HNRS1010 in the spring. Exceptions will only be made for those with a schedule conflict due to a required academic course, those on co-op or those with any other official UC-related function (ex. UC athletics). Please be aware that fraternities/sororities, student clubs/organizations, volunteer groups, etc. are NOT official UC-related functions. 

Gateway to University Honors (HNRS1010) does NOT carry a fee. If the student is taking the maximum number of credit hours (18) as a full-time student, s/he can still enroll in the class without being charged additional tuition fees. Students must receive authorization from their college academic advisor to register for the 19th credit hour.

  • Successfully complete HNRS1010 Gateway to University Honors
  • Complete five (5) honors experiences
  • Meet with your UHP advisor on an annual basis
  • Maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA
In addition, please be aware that the University Honors Program does not provide any scholarships that can be applied towards your UC tuition.
