OHCA Event Audience Characteristics

The Oregon Health Care Association (OHCA) represents assisted living (ALF), residential care (RCF), memory care, post-acute care and skilled nursing (NF), in-home care (IHC), and independent living facilities providing care and services to seniors and disabled people across the state. OHCA events draw 25-to-1,500 attendees including facility owners, corporate management, administrators, directors of nursing, regulatory professionals, and more.

The audience is diverse and all experience levels, from significant to limited experience, and cover all staff, clinical, operations, and administrative roles. Click here for more information about OHCA.

Submission Review and Selection
When selecting sessions, reviewers are looking for:
  • Current information and topics relevant to the needs of the attendees
  • Overall quality, originality, and timeliness
  • Practical and immediately implementable strategies and ideas
  • Innovative ideas and new technologies to address challenges
  • Use of case studies, stories, peer-to-peer learning, and other techniques
  • No sales pitches
  • Cost; in an effort to keep registration fees at a minimum for our attendees, OHCA operates on a limited education budget. Therefore, speakers who do not require speaker fees will be given top priority. Speakers who waive their fee will be given a complimentary registration into the event they speak at and will gain visibility and credibility as a leader in the profession by being a showcased presenter.

Submission Deadlines
Submissions will be accepted on an ongoing basis. OHCA reviews submissions periodically and will contact those presenters who have been selected for presentation. For larger events, submissions must be received by the following dates to be considered:
  • Spring Expo (held April 23-24): November 10, 2024
  • Annual Convention (held September 2025): May 4, 2025
