2023 SMVLL Year In Review

2023 SMVLL Year in Review Survey

As a participant in SMVLL during the 2023 season, we would appreciate your feedback on the season as a whole as we move forward with planning our 2024 season.  Please rate your overall satisfaction within each of the following areas on a scale of 1-5.
1.Registration process (ease of registration, clarity of requirements, etc.)
2.Registration fees (reasonableness of fee, value for money)
3.Expected involvement in the league as a parent
4.Opportunities for involvement in the league as a parent
5.Communications from the league (and team parent)
6.Tryout and team selection process
7.Coaching and instruction received by your player from his or her manager and coaches (baseball specific and sportmanship in general)
8.Quantity of practices and games
9.Safety/adherence to safety policies (for players, volunteers, spectators, etc.)
10.Clinics and trainings offered for players
11.Clinics and trainings offered for umpires and coaches
12.PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU USED GAME CHANGER TO OFFICIALLY SCORE GAMES THIS SEASON.  As a league, we moved to GameChanger for official scorekeeping this season.  There were first year challenges, of course, and we would appreciate feedback on using the GameChanger app, any challenges you faced and anything we can do in the future to help our scorekeepers be as well trained and prepared as possible.
13.In what areas would you like to see SMVLL invest money to improve the program?  (Examples might include fields, equipment, spectator areas, snack bar, uniforms, clinics, events, safety, etc.)
14.Did your family volunteer during the 2023 spring season?  If so, in what capacity?
15.Would you be interested in participating in community events through SMVLL?  (For example, the OSO Fit 5K with the City of Mission Viejo).  If so, what types of events would you be interesting in seeing our league participate in?
16.Would you like to see the league host more skills clinics?  If yes, what types of skills clinics would be helpful?
17.We are always looking for ways to build the sense of community within our South family.  Our Moms & Bombs and the kids' Home Run Derby events were a huge success this year and we had hoped to do a Movie Night as well, but the weather didn't cooperate.  Do you have any other suggestions for similar type events we might be able to hold that can bring league familes together from all age groups?
18.Please share any additional thoughts or comments you may have on how we can improve as a league.
19.What are some of the positive experiences that your family enjoyed during this past season at SMVLL?
20.How likely are you to return to SMVLL next season?
21.Please indicate the division(s) you had players participating in this season.(Required.)
22.PLEASE NOTE - NOTHING IS HAPPENING AT THIS TIME - THIS IS SIMPLY A QUESTION TO GET FEEDBACK FROM OUR SOUTH FAMILIES FOR THE BOARD TO CONSIDER IF THE ISSUE COMES UP DOWN THE ROAD.

There has been some floating of the idea of the Mission Viejo little leagues - South, North and Viejo - merging at some point in the future to create one unified Mission Viejo Little League.   If you have thoughts on the matter, please share.  We would love feedback on how our South familes feel about this idea and what they see as potential pluses and minuses to such a move.
