Nurturing Grassroots Value Statement Agreement

Co-production and shared values

We are delighted that you are participating in Nurturing Grassroots support programme.

This programme aims to support and strengthen grassroots organisations to make them stronger so that they can better provide support to the communities they have been set up to serve and help.

Nurturing Grassroots is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund's Reaching Communities grant programme and delivered by the Civil Society Consulting CIC team.

While working with us under this programme, we ask you to commit to the spirit of co-production and take a proactive working approach. This project is funded using scarce Lottery money and we are all committed to using our limited resources well for the integrity of this project, and co-producing with you some real improvements in your work.

Where we have co-produced materials, we reserve the right to incorporate Nurturing Grassroots branding. We are entitled to use these materials, as well as screenshots of virtual group meetings, as part of our promotional activities.

Celebrating and improving relations between diverse communities is at the heart of what we do. It is in this spirit that we ask everyone with whom we work to be guided by to the following values throughout our time working together: Respect for difference, curiosity to learn from each other, engaging through active listening and sharing with honesty.
It is in this spirit that we ask everyone with whom we work to be guided by to the following values throughout our time working together:

- Tolerance, equality, and respect for difference. This includes, but is not limited to, the obligations stipulated in the Equality Act 2010 and respect for the protected characteristics identified therein, namely age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation
- The value of free speech and the rule of law as cornerstones of UK civic life
- The importance of protecting our environment and tackling climate change
- Neither promoting nor supporting any activity related to extremism. Extremism means the vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values, including the mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.
