Southeast Kirkwood Connectivity Study Survey

The Southeast Kirkwood Connectivity Study is a visionary project that aims to bridge the gap to a historically detached part of the city. Through a multimodal urban trail connection, we seek to establish robust links between Southeast Kirkwood neighborhoods and commercial areas to destinations to the north, including Nipher Middle School and Grant’s Trail/Gravois Greenway. This project is not just about addressing the physical barrier of the BNSF railroad corridor, but is also about creating equitable and safe physical links that will significantly enhance the health and quality of life for the entire Kirkwood community.

The Southeast Kirkwood Connectivity Study, “Connectivity Study,” will involve technical analysis, design, and public input to identify two routes for active transportation that cross Big Bend Boulevard and the BNSF railroad tracks. Active transportation includes all human-powered movement such as walking, biking, and using a scooter or wheelchair.

This survey will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete. The information collected will be used to inform the Connectivity Study and is part of the broader Kirkwood Vision Zero Action Plan to improve safety for all users on Kirkwood roadways.
