2018 GW UNESCO Fellows Program - ELLIOTT SCHOOL FELLOWS

The GW UNESCO Fellows is a unique fellowship program, supported by the UNESCO Chair in International Education for Development, which is housed in GSEHD's International Education Program. The Fellowship supports current graduate students per year who participate in a 3-month internships at a UNESCO field office, gaining valuable experience in international development and non-profit management.

The program begins with pre-departure research, readings, and meetings during the 2018 spring semester. The in-country internship takes place during the summer semester 2018, during which fellows are enrolled in the UNESCO Fellows course. The summer course will require background readings, Blackboard participation, and a final project. As part of the fellowship, students will be expected to take part in all UNESCO required activities and act according to UNESCO professional standards and guidelines.

Students are strongly encouraged to take the spring 2018 course - UNESCO: Agenda for the 21st Century. 

Each fellowship includes:
  • Roundtrip airfare to field office placement
  • Living stipend
  • Insurance

This year, we have opened spots specifically for Elliott School students for placement at UNESCO Dakar in Dakar, Senegal.

Professional French language skills are required.
