2025 Innovation Award Application

In 2025, The Society of Pediatric Nurses will be presenting an Innovation Award. This award aims to identify and recognize new and creative approaches, through education, support of the community, or an innovative process that resulted in better quality care for children and their families. This award is intended to celebrate the efforts of a pediatric nurse, pediatric department/unit or an SPN chapter.

Innovation Approach can be:
  • An innovative process change or quality improvement
  • A new partnership within the community
  • Implementing a major change within your department/unit
  • Improved results for the care of children and their families
Example:
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, many pediatric nurses were called to care for adult patients. How did you prepare your pediatric nurses to care for adults with COVID-19?
  • With the current staffing shortages, did you implement a new staffing model to maintain or improve patient care?
  • During the year of social unrest and examination of diversity, equity and inclusion, did you develop any new ways to address disparities within your pediatric healthcare practice?

Requirements:
  • Submitting applicant/nominee must be an active SPN member
  • A completed application form (page 2)
  • A written statement detailing the innovation
