2024 Professional Learning Tour: Japan & South Korea: July 2024
Join us July 8-19, 2024 for an incredible professional learning experience exploring cultural and global educational content while expanding your professional network. This program includes:
Immersive travel experience | Tokyo | Yokohama | Hiroshima | Osaka | Seoul
Join administrators from around the country as we travel for 12 days throughout Japan and South Korea to build global competency, explore educational innovation, connect with community and take part in professional networking in an international setting. During this experience, you'll get a taste of hands-on learning as you explore cultural sites, analyze trends in STEM education, and gain a deeper understanding of the history and innovation of these incredible countries.
After spending time in Tokyo, we will explore Hiroshima and experience the deep history of the events that ultimately ended World War II as well as dive deep on STEM opportunities in the city. From there, we'll proceed to Osaka by bullet train and experience this bustling city before we fly to Seoul. After exploring the city, we'll take a full day to tour Korea's Demilitarized Zone.
Throughout this experience, you will expand your professional network as you work collaboratively with peers exploring the importance of global competency for your district and community, all while discovering the rich history and culture of both Japan and South Korea.
EF has been partnering with district leaders for almost 60 years to ensure that our educational tours address some of your most pressing needs including creating accessible programs for students, helping develop global citizens, supporting future ready skill development in students and providing professional development for educators.
Participants can expect to:
1. Expand your network of globally-minded administrators from around the country
2. Increase your own global competence and understanding of necessary skills for future readiness
3. Bring your learnings back to your district in order to support and/or implement a plan to build/enhance global competency, including providing travel-based learning opportunities for your students
Applications will be evaluated based on applicants’ commitment to developing global education initiatives in their school district.
