The winners of these awards will be nominated as HTBA candidates for related categories in the Australian Stud and Stable Staff Awards.
HTBA Employee of the Year (Administration) Award: In recognition of an individual staff member who works in administration in or for the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeding Industry who has demonstrated exceptional skills, loyalty or achievement that has added value to their employer’s business and directly or indirectly to the Hunter Valley Thoroughbred Breeding Industry.
HTBA Employee of the Year (Horsemanship) Award: In recognition of an individual staff member who has shown talent for horsemanship, consistency and reliability, an affinity with horses and who gives priority to animal welfare. Must demonstrate a degree of success within the Hunter Valley Thoroughbred Breeding Industry that has been borne out of their particular skill set.
HTBA Employee of the Year (Administration) Award: In recognition of an individual staff member who works in administration in or for the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeding Industry who has demonstrated exceptional skills, loyalty or achievement that has added value to their employer’s business and directly or indirectly to the Hunter Valley Thoroughbred Breeding Industry.

HTBA Employee of the Year (Leadership) Award: In recognition of an individual staff member in a managerial (middle management) or supervisory role in the Hunter Valley Breeding Industry, who has displayed leadership qualities – in particular in terms of quality team/people management, mentoring and supporting staff, attention to workplace health and safety, commitment to continuous development and displaying good business acumen.
HTBA Employee of the Year (Newcomer) Award: The Newcomer Award recognizes an individual who demonstrates enthusiasm, commitment and the potential for long-term excellence within the thoroughbred industry. Displaying ongoing desire to enhance skills and gain experience. Demonstrating a strong commitment to their role and the desire to advance. A strong advocate for the industry. Newcomer must have commenced a role in the thoroughbred industry within the last 5 years.

Murray Bain Services to the Industry Award: In recognition of an individual for their efforts an invaluable member of the Hunter Valley Breeding Industry, who works at a "hands on level" not a safe distance for many years, showing extended knowledge and dedication to breeding operations.
Presidents’ Award for Lifetime Achievement: In recognition of an individual for their many years of dedication to thoroughbred breeding, research and development and campaigning to preserve and protect our proud thoroughbred breeding heritage.
